VTP Configuration
First setup Switch0 in VTP server mode and Switch1 in VTP client mode.
Switch0(config)#vtp domain nec
Switch0(config)#vtp mode server
Switch0(config)#vtp password nec1
Switch1(config)#vtp domain nec
Switch1(config)#vtp mode client
Switch1(config)#vtp password nec1
Now that both are ready to share VTP information, let us setup trunk line in both switches.
Switch0(config)#interface fa0/0
Switch0(config-if)#switchport mode trunk
Switch1(config)#interface fa0/0
Switch1(config-if)#switchport mode trunk
Now, we can add VLANs in VTP server.
Switch0(config)#vlan 2
Switch0(config-vlan)#name account
Switch0(config-vlan)#vlan 3
Switch0(config-vlan)#name student
You can verify that these VLANs are propagated in Switch1 (VTP client).
Switch1#show vlan brief
You can now move FA0/2 and FA0/3 to VLAN 3, Fa0/4 and Fa0/5 to VLAN 2 in Switch0.
Switch0(config)#interface fa 0/2
Switch0(config-if)#switchport access vlan 3
Switch0(config-if)#interface fa 0/3
Switch0(config-if)#switchport access vlan 3
Switch0(config-if)#interface fa 0/4
Switch0(config-if)#switchport access vlan 2
Switch0(config-if)#interface fa 0/5
Switch0(config-if)#switchport access vlan 2
Now move Fa0/2 to student VLAN (VLAN3) vlan and Fa0/3 to account VLAN (VLAN2) in Switch1.
Switch0(config)#interface fa 0/2
Switch0(config-if)#switchport access vlan 3
Switch0(config-if)#interface fa 0/3
Switch0(config-if)#switchport access vlan 2
Finally verify VLAN configurations in Switches.Switch0#show vlan brief
Switch1#show vlan brief
You can also view status of VTP.
